CrushOn AI Review

My #1 for roleplay: characters that hold their personality, a big library, and the lowest serious entry price in the category. The token prompts are the thing to watch.

The one-minute verdict

CrushOn is what SpicyChat wishes its memory was. Characters stay in role across long scenes, the library is deep, and full NSFW access starts around $5.99/month — the best price-to-freedom ratio I've found for serious roleplay. There's a genuinely usable free allowance too (a daily message quota). The one recurring annoyance: token prompts that can pop up mid-scene.

Best for: people who want long, in-character roleplay that stays coherent — without paying companion-app prices.

What it offers

  • 1,000+ characters spanning most roleplay niches
  • A daily free message allowance to try it properly
  • Full NSFW access from roughly $5.99/month
  • Strong in-character consistency over long scenes
  • Simple, beginner-friendly interface

What makes it unique

  • Best character consistency for the price in the category
  • Serious roleplay depth without a premium subscription
  • Low barrier to entry — easy for first-timers

Where it falls short

The token economy is the friction point. On busier plans you can hit prompts to top up in the middle of a scene — sometimes mid-sentence — and that's a hard mood to recover. It's manageable once you understand the plan you're on, but it's the reason it isn't a clean 9.5. Image generation is also secondary here; this is a text-first roleplay tool.

Pros

  • Excellent in-character consistency
  • Low entry price with a free daily allowance
  • Large, varied character library
  • Beginner-friendly

Cons

  • Token prompts can interrupt mid-scene
  • Images are an afterthought, not a strength
  • Heavy users will want a higher tier

Pricing reality

A free daily message quota lets you test it honestly, and paid access starts low (around $5.99/month for full NSFW). Higher tiers raise your message/token headroom — if you roleplay for hours, budget for one of those to avoid the interruptions. Even so, it undercuts the big companion apps comfortably.

Should you use it?

If roleplay depth is your priority, yes — it's the best balance of quality and price. Want the absolute biggest free library instead? SpicyChat. Want maximum, no-limits freedom and don't mind technical setup? Janitor AI with your own API key. For most people, CrushOn is the sweet spot.
